Center Use Policies

The IERC and AHC Simulation Center are dedicated exclusively to the development and implementation of simulation-based teaching and assessment experiences. The Centers operate as an Internal Service Organization, providing subsidized rates for University of Minnesota clients, and allowing external users access to all facilities and services through a fee-for-service model. Scheduling priority is given to users within the AHC, those with high-stakes clinical assessment needs, and those whose projects could not be implemented elsewhere.

Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Scheduling use of the facilities at times other than regular operating hours is subject to the discretion of the Client Services Manager.

Professional behavior, consistent with expectations for actual clinical settings, is required of all users in the Centers.

Cancellations must be made 72 hours (3 business days) prior to scheduled use, or the client will be charged for all contracted services.

Universal precautions against infectious disease are to be followed at all times while working in the Centers.

Loss and theft prevention is the responsibility of users. The Centers provide storage spaces for personal items, but users are responsible to assure the security of those items.

Damage to equipment and the facility is the responsibility of users. Users will be assessed for the replacement or repair cost of any equipment or facilities that are damaged, destroyed, or lost during use.

Extreme weather may cause activities to be altered to assure safety of participants. In rare circumstances, the University may close, requiring events to halt or be cancelled.
