Patient simulators enable learners to practice a wide range of skills, including those that can’t be safely or ethically simulated with real people. Utilizing them in simulations allows for learners to participate in dynamic scenarios that integrate specific procedural skills, communication, and teamwork. Task trainers and table top models support more focused needs for skill development. They can be used for teaching and assessment independent from simulation scenarios, and they can also be utilized in hybrid simulations (simulations that combine simulated patients with simulators or task trainers).

Lumbar Puncture Simulator

Lumbar Puncture Simulator

The simulator can be modified to replicate experience with patients who are considered normal, obese, geriatric, and geriatric obese. Skills include training and practice for both lumbar puncture techniques and epidural anesthesia. The patient simulator may be used in the sitting or lateral position and can be used to practice team support.
